Apply for a Scholarship

At Salsa Para Todos, our goal is to increase accessibility to partner dance by offering scholarships to community members who are experiencing financial hardship.

Please keep in mind that submitting an application does not guarantee support, but we do our best to help as many dancers as we can.

Who Can Apply

You’re invited to apply if:

  • You’re an active member of the Salsa Con Todo community, having participated in a team or series class for at least three months

  • You’re experiencing a significant life event that affects your ability to pay for classes, such as:

    • Job loss

    • Medical hardship

    • Family hardship

How the Selection Process Works

We review applications once at the end of each quarter, with the quarter schedule and deadlines shown below. You are welcome to apply at any time, with the understanding that all applications for each quarter will be reviewed once the deadline has closed. Applicants can expect to hear back approximately 1 week after the deadline closes with information on the next steps.

Q1: January–March

Q2: April–June

Q3: July–September

Q4: October–December

2026 Application Deadlines (due by 11:59pm PST):

Friday, March 5th, 2026

Friday, June 5th, 2026

Friday, September 4th, 2026

Friday, December 4th, 2026

Household Applicant Policy

Individuals living in the same household are welcome to submit their own applications for scholarship support. Each application is thoughtfully reviewed on its own, with care given to the applicant’s experience and need.

Because financial hardship often affects an entire household, we review household financial information as a whole. To help us distribute funds as fairly as possible, the total scholarship amount awarded to one household during a funding period may not exceed the value of one full scholarship. This support may be offered to a single applicant or shared among multiple applicants in the same household, as determined by the review committee.

Proof of Need

To help us understand your situation, you will be asked to share simple documentation such as a paystub or a termination letter. This will be requested after the deadline has closed and applications are being reviewed.

If you prefer to self-report your need without providing documents, that’s okay too. Financial assistance may still be available at a limited capacity.

What to Expect if You’re Approved

We’re excited for the opportunity to support your dance journey! If you receive assistance, we ask that you:

  • Maintain at least 75% attendance in your classes

  • Follow all rules and code of conduct of the participating dance school. If the code is not upheld, financial assistance may be paused or revoked.

  • Understand that decisions from the review committee are final

  • Let Salsa Para Todos know if your situation changes and you no longer need support

Duration of Support

At this time, scholarship assistance can be offered for up to three consecutive months (and we are hoping to increase this as we continue growing our organization!).

After that period, you’re welcome to apply again for the next scholarship cycle using the application. You must apply using the application in order to be considered, regardless of whether you are a first-time applicant or looking to reapply for a scholarship.
